The Story of the Revelstoke Trees for Tots Society
Trees for Tots began as a fundraiser in 1989 and incorporated under the Societies Act in October 1991 with a mandate of offering financial assistance, where possible, to families in Revelstoke whose children need to travel outside of our community for specialized medical services.
In 1989, Richard Wilkins founded the first Trees for Tots fundraiser which invited residents to sponsor a bulb on a tree during the Christmas season. More than $2,800 was raised with the first campaign. Volunteers, generous donors and businesses have made a huge impact with contributions and fundraisers. Since its inception, Revelstoke Trees for Tots has provided over $700,000 to support families travelling to access medical services for their children. Trees for Tots is a 100% volunteer organization. With amazing community support, we have been supporting Revelstoke families travelling to out of town medical appointments for over 30 years. The charity has a legacy of making a significant difference by easing the financial hardship and stress for families coping with a child’s illness. |
Our Mission:

This includes extra travel or other expenses within the capacity of funds available and the needs of the persons seeking the financial help.
